  13. <title>Installing Findutils</title>
  14. <para>Prepare Findutils for compilation:</para>
  15. <screen><userinput>./configure --prefix=/usr --libexecdir=/usr/lib/locate</userinput></screen>
  16. <para>By default, the location of the updatedb database is in
  17. <filename>/usr/var</filename>. To make the location of
  18. <filename>/var/lib/misc/locatedb</filename> file FHS compliant, pass the
  19. <emphasis>--localstatedir=/var/lib/misc</emphasis> option to
  20. <userinput>configure</userinput>.</para>
  21. <para>Compile the package:</para>

  23. <para>This package has a test suite available which can perform a number of
  24. checks to ensure it built correctly. Should you choose to run it, the
